IPL COO,”IPL 2021 isn’t over for BCCI until all of you safely return home”
Amid the ongoing IPL 2021, many foreign players showed concerns over the current Coronavirus situation in India. Addressing their concern IPL COO, Hemang Amin wrote a letter to all players and support staff of all the franchises.
In his letter, IPL COO assured the players and support staff that IPL’s 14th edition would not be over for BCCI until all the players and support staff reached their home safely after the completion of the tournament.
He wrote, we understand many of you are concerned about how will you reach home once the tournament is completed, which is natural and understandable. We want to tell you that you don’t have to worry about it. The BCCI will make sure and do everything to ensure that you all reach your destinations seamlessly. We are monitoring the situation very closely and working with the government authorities to make the necessary arrangements for you to reach home safely once the tournament is completed.
Amin further added that the BCCI has decided to further strengthen the bio-bubbles. These have been successful for the smooth completion of our last edition and many other sporting events in the world.
In order to mollify any apprehension and concerns, we have decided to further strengthen our bio-secure environment keeping everyone involved in the tournament safe and healthy. Recently, we have increased our testing instead of the stipulated test every five days, we now conduct tests every two days.
He further explained, earlier in the tournament, we have allowed food deliveries from outside your designated hotels, but seeing the current situation these privileges have also been withdrawn. Apart from these steps, we have also leveled up the caution to strengthen our bio-bubbles. I am sure you all with understand and co-operate with us. The health and safety of our players, support staff, and all the members involved in IPL 2021 are of utmost importance and BCCI will leave no stone unturned in that endeavor.
Amin also thanked the players for bringing smiles to the face of billions of cricket fans in these tough times. He also added, whenever you walk on the field you are bringing joy and hope to millions of cricket fans who have turned on their TV to watch you. Even if for a minute you bring a smile to someone’s face you have done your job well. While you are a professional and will play to win, but this time you have a much bigger objective in front of you the Humanity.
