Delhi Police issued Lookout Notice against Sushil Kumar in the murder of a junior national champion

On Monday, Delhi Police has issued a lookout notice against Olympic medalist Sushil Kumar. Kumar has escaped after being charged with the murder of a 23-year-old junior national champion at Chhatrasal Stadium.

Junior National Champion, Sagar Dhankad, was beaten to death during a fight at Chhatrasal Stadium. An FIR against Sushil Kumar was registered for the murder, criminal conspiracy, and abduction.

As per the Police, victims have professed that Kumar was present at the spot of the incident. They also added that Sushil Kumar and his associates abducted Sagar Dhankad from his house to teach him a lesson for bad-mouthing him in front of other wrestlers.

According to police, the fight took place between Sonu, Sagar, Amit, Prince, Sushil Kumar, and others in the parking area. Thereafter, police registered a case under relevant sections of the IPC and Arms Act at the Model town police station.

As per the Guriqbal Singh Sindhu, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (northwest) Delhi, During Investigation, they received information regarding the injury to Sonu and Death of Sagar from the Trauma Centre, Civil Lines, following which under a different section of IPC the case was registered. He also added many teams of Delhi Police have been formed to trace Kumar and other suspects. Delhi Police is constantly raiding areas in Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Delhi-NCR.

On the other hand, The Wrestling Federation of India has shown concern. As per them the reputation of WFI built over the years with brilliant performances in the international arena has been ruined by the act of Sushil Kumar.
