FARMER’S PROTEST TURNED CHAOTIC ON 72Nd REPUBLIC DAY

26 January 2021 witnessed India’s 72nd Republic Day amidst the covid-19 pandemic. As well as the farmers’ protest against the new farmer bill.

The farmers have been protesting in and around Delhi. Basically from the last 60 days declared to organize a tractor rally on 26th January. Though it was supposed to be a peaceful one. But the rally deviated from its decided path and moments. Later, the tractors broke down the barricades and marched towards central Delhi and Red Fort. Meanwhile, the protestors also chased down and attacked many police personnel.

The protestors also broke into the Red Fort and brought down the Tricolour and hoisted their respective flags. In the whole incident, around 200 police personnel are injured. Along with it, the police on 27th lodged 25 FIR’s and made 93 arrests so far.

Farmer’s Protest Called Off :

After seeing all this chaos and violence few farmers’ groups have withdrawn from the protest.

” We can’t carry forward a protest with someone whose direction is something else.”

Also, the All India Sangharsh Coordinate Committee(AIKSCC) and Bhartiya Kisan Union(BHANU) also called off their protest. Also, BHANU leader Thakur Bhanu Pratap Singh said:

” Deeply saddened and ashamed of what happened yesterday. I hereby declare to call off our(BHANU) protest from the Chilla Border”

At present, a 1500 army men unit appointed around the Red Fort. Moreover, the Delhi Commissioner of Police handed over the report to the Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah.
